The Ultimate Goal: Fighting for a sustainable world where everyone can feel loved and can thrive
The Fight To End Global Poverty

Tanner Bergsma is leading several initiatives, but Bergsma is working actively to help eliminate poverty across Canada. In order to achieve this, Bergsma sits on multiple committees and boards of existing charities to further his impact. He helps sit on the Kitchener 2051 CWG where he is helping to rewrite the cities official plan. He also is volunteering his time within the community as a private consultant in order to get people stabilized. In the past 12 months, due to his initiatives, he was successfully able to lead an initiative that housed 57 people, helped get 3 people financially stable, helped give out almost 4000 meals (approx value: $14,000), and advert over 2000 pounds of GHG from the atmosphere. Bergsma is continuing to volunteer his time to help individuals one on one to get the supports they need to achieve long term stability.
The number one thing Bergsma is working on currently is to eliminate provincial and federal sales tax off of all basic necessities across Canada. Bergsma believes that the government should not be profiting off of people's basic right to survive, and taxing basic necessities like utilities is affecting the lower and middle class. Bergsma argues that it is an infringement of section 7 of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms: Right to liberty, life, and security of person. Sign the petition today.
Fighting To End The 'Global Genocide'

While the trade war is looming over multiple countries, and innocent lives are being killed due to the war in Gaza, War in Ukraine, International poverty, and homelessness. Millions are ending their life, and or getting killed from war, poverty, and suicide. Bergsma is taking a stand and saying enough. With the help of several leaders and politicians Bergsma leads protests to help fight for an end to global conflicts and works tightly with various government agencies, politicians, and community to make this happen.
The Fight for Autism Stability

In Canada alone, only 14.3% of people with autism are actually able to secure steady employment even with a post-secondary education. This leaves over 85.7% reliant on the system in order to survive. As someone who was diagnosed with autism, Bergsma serves as a global activist for autism awareness, stability, and proving that autistic people can thrive. Bergsma has lead the first ever transition to work program for autistic post-secondary students across Canada called Sapphire. Under his leadership and with the help of his team, his university became regional champions in the Youth Empowerment Challenge. Bergsma is attending the Canadian Autism Leadership Summit this April in order to advocate for people with autism in his University but also across Canada. Bergsma currently is working with his university to find a global solution to ensure that all people with autism can thrive.

The Fight for the Mental Health Crisis

Bergsma suffers from C-PTSD, generalized anxiety disorder, BPD, and depression. He knows first hand the effects of what mental health can do. Bergsma used to suffer from chronic homelessness, and with the loss of his daughter in 2022, this made Bergsma turn to alcohol to end his pain. Bergsma luckily survived multiple attempts, and luckily found God and Jesus Christ. Bergsma now tried to help people find their inner light by sharing his story to others, to help people realize that they are not alone. To help them realize that they are not alone. Bergsma has attended multiple podcasts and summits in order to help advocate for mental health. Bergsma believes in a sustainable world where everyone has the right to thrive.
